Rosemary & Cherry Whiskey Sour
It's a cocktail with a story. A friend of mine started throwing random things she could find in our vacation home kitchen in to a shaker and then handed me some insanely delicious concoction that has stayed with me ever since. I have tried to recreate it with no luck. Roped her into trying to recreate it...it was good but something was still off. Roped another friend into it and she came up with something totally different but better. It still celebrated the notes I wanted. It was a prettier color. And it was about half the ingredients. So that is what we have today.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz whiskey
1 1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz cocktail cherry syrup, one cherry for garnish
3 springs of rosemary
Directions
1. In a shaker without ice, combine whiskey, maple syrup, cherry syrup, bitters and lemon. Shake ingredients for 10 secs.
2. Smack 2 sprigs of the rosemary and drop in the shaker. Add ice and shake for another 10 secs.
3. In a glass of your choice, fill with ice, strain the cocktail. Garnish with the last piece of rosemary and a cherry. Serve immediately. Cheers!
