Preserved Lemon Margarita

Everyone has their preference when it comes to a good margarita. I prefer a sour salty margarita that has been made from freshly squeeze citrus. Premade mixers is a HECK no for me. Serve me a sweet marg, I will ask for a bowl of limes so I can squeeze the juice into my marg to make it sour. So, if you are with me on sour margs, this is for you. Also, can we be besties?! This preserved lemon margarita is sour, bright & salty and honestly the best marg I have ever made! If you taste it and decide it’s too sour, lucky for you the fix is just some extra honey or a pinch of sugar.
Ingredients
1.5 oz tequila
1 oz fresh lime juice
.25 oz fresh orange juice
1 oz fresh lemon juice
.5 oz preserved lemon juice
1/2 of a preserve lemon
1 bar spoon honey
salt for rim, maybe even a mix of tajin & salt!
1. Run a lime wedge along the rim of your glass of choice and sprinkle (or dip in) the salt (and tajin if using). Fill with ice and set aside.
2. Add all the citrus juice and the 1/2 piece of preserved lemon into a shaker and muddle the preserved lemon until all juices have been released.
3. Add the tequila and honey. Stir for a minute, giving the honey a moment to dissolve. The ice can harden the honey making it harder for it to properly dissolve.
4. Fill the shaker with ice, and shake for 20 secs. Strain into your prepared glass and cheers!
